Goodbye
I am sad to say that Free Albums Galore will be closing. Of course, what is here will stay here to allow others to find all these great free albums and as a historical archive of, for me at least a golden era of unusual and exciting music.
Thanks to all who have frequented these pages and thanks to those who expressed their concerns for myself and my family. I want to assure everyone that we are well and happy. The reasons have more to do with changing priorities as I get older.

Thanks for all the stuff… this blog was one of the first I discovered sharing music, shortly after I launched “bongolong land” and then “bongobells” both I had to close for “changing priorities as I get older.” So I know just how you feel… so thanks again!!!

I know what responsability feels like. Sometimes one must choose and let go of something beautiful, knowing you will feel sorry for it.
You must be a very strong person having the guts to choose what is the most important. Don’t worry - I understand the mechanism: in the end you will experience the relief and move on, happy about having made the right choice.

ó meu amigo, pois eu também estou a repensar as prioridades na minha vida e compreendo que já fez a sua parte… muitos como eu limitam-se a ser “utentes” do que a internet tem para oferecer sem nunca chegarem a ser “criadores” de conteúdo… enfim!
Eu compreendo… mas a verdade é que é mais um “antro virtual” de conteúdo excelente que desaparece do ciberespaço (outros foram o MUSIC FO YO ASS e o BESTOFBOTHWORLDS) sem que se vislumbre algo que possa colmatar essa ausência (há outros blogues sobre música gratuita de editoras em linha, mas nenhum com a cobertura deste nem o critério posto na seleccção nem se calhar o aprofundamento crítico dos textos).
Marvin: would you consider passing this invaluable task on to someone else?

I did consider passing the task on to someone else as it was to me. However, after six years this blog has become such a personal effort I decided to just retire it. Also, unlike six years ago there are now plenty of places like the free music archive that pass along great free music.
