Light Under Water - Reflective Landscapes of Nowhere
From the band’s own description…
“LIGHT UNDER WATER is a Moscow-based collaborative project by guitarists Dima T. Pilot and A.B. (both are the core members of BOSCH’S WITH YOU) and keyboardist Nick Zavriev (of AMBIDEXTROUS). Since 2006, the trio (or sometimes LUW appears as a guitar-duo) has been exploring areas of melodic electro-acoustic ambient, emotive organic drone, sonic minimalism, and eschatological psychodelia. By building and layering substantial resonant abstractions, LUW’s delusive imagery transcends the reality in a truly beautiful and unpredictable way.”
Sometimes I can’t describe it any better and should let the artist speak for themselves. As for the actual album titled Reflective Landscapes of Nowhere, it is a slow paced but hypnotic experience of ambient and jazz fusion music. Some may be reminded of Tortoise but my thoughts go back to the early (1970s) fusion experiments by Lyle Mays and Pat Metheny. Light Under Water is a apt name. Some of this does sound like it is moving through water. This is one of the nicer ambient excursions you will find.

Had all of those Metheny albums back in the day. Makes for a nice recommendation for this.
