Windowbox Ensemble - Will of The Wood
Windowbox Ensemble’s sparse original compositions resemble classical chamber music. While listening to these tracks, I am reminded of Satie and Faure with a late 20th century post-modernist bent. These compositions may sound deceptively simple yet repeated listening brings out complex layers and nuances. Acoustic and piano oriented, the six tracks have a otherworldly appeal that I find fascinating. Will of The Wood is a bit short at its 20 minutes duration but it keeps my interest after several listens and continues to enthrall me. Highly recommended.
