Bartok - Violin Concerto No. 2
It’s time for another Bela Bartok fix and this very important violin concerto of the 20th century should fit the bill. The violinist is Yehudi Menuhin and the orchestra is The Dallas Symphony Orchestra conducted by Antal Dorati. The concerto itself was composed in1936 and 1937 and is an unusually optimistic work by the composer in three movements. This version is from 78rpm records recorded January 15-16, 1946. It is another fine transfer to MP3 files by F. Reeder and a jewel among violin concertos.
