Jay Bennett - Whatever Happened I Apologize
Jay Bennett is a guitarist and singer/songwriter who is best known as a member of Wilco from 1994 to 2001. He separated from the band in 2001 and subsequently released five solo albums. Bennett passed away on May 24, 2009.
His last album was Whatever Happened I Apologize which was released as a free online album thorough the Rock Proper label in November of 2008. It is a sparse but intimate collection of songs featuring only voice and guitar. It sounds like a very personal effort and has a definitive power in its lyrics. This is a fitting ending for an artist who left us too early.
