Thomas Méry - Hallonsaft
Thomas Mery’s 15 minute, four track Demo EP titled Hallonsaft barely meets the duration requirements of Free Albums Galore but it is too good to pass up. Mery’s very different folk songs are slightly reminiscent of medieval music yet are peppered with electronic glitches and drones that deliver the songs into another era. The singer/songwriter’s own voice and guitar convey an dreamy bittersweet quality. All four songs are quite good but “Shaping Places” is a melodic gem and “realShift” is simply stunning. Some reviewers labeled this ‘Folktronics”, whatever that is, but labels do not do it justice. This is just beautiful and innovative songwriting.
Hallonsaft is available in 192kbps MP3.
