Ambient, dark ambient, experimental, minimalist…whatever you wish to call it, Phillip Wilkerson’s The Dream Beneath is a heady mix of tones and drones. The title track washes over you like a wave. The rest of the tracks are relatively short drone-scapes, all suitable for restful listening or background sounds for those who are used to the dark. This is a worthy listen for those of you into experimental electronic music.
