Two splendid piano sonatas by Franz Schubert make up this excellent online album by classical pianist Aviram Reichert. The “Piano Sonata in A Minor, D. 784″ is a forboding work of melancholic beauty. The first movement never fails to make me a little sad. The “Sonata in C minor D. 958″ was written only 2 months before the composer’s death and is considered one of his best works for piano. Reichert has all the passion and virtuosity needed to bring alive these great compositions of the Romantic Era.
