Alta Infidelidad - Cactus y Volcanes
Alta Infidelidad’s online album from the Thinner netlabel is a bit different than the netlabel’s usual minimalist efforts. While decidedly ambient, the slant is more toward techno beats than abstracts or field recordings. Alta Infidelidad is a collaborative effort between Chilean musicians Christian Dittmann and Receptor. The overall effects of these tracks result in crisp but sparse fragments of sounds over a steady beat with a building and releasing of tension. The steady beat and minimalism wears a bit with a nonstop listen but each track does have its own charms. The charm of “Cancion de Luna” is revealed in its various remixes and “Rapido” holds my interest with its hints of tonality over a gurgling beat. Overall, it is a nice album for those who like their ambient listenings with a little bounce.
The album is available by separate tracks or full album zip in 192kbps MP3.
