Two brief but excellent EPs are available from Swedish artist Stefan Ternemar recording under the initials ST. Both albums are from the Monotonik netlabel.

Emotions in a Box is his first release and provides a heady but enjoyable feast of pretty melodies and catchy beats. This is IDM at it’s most accessible, sort of Air with a higher IQ. I especially recommend the title track for its relaxing vibes. The entire EP runs about 18 minutes.

I’ll Meet You There is regrettably much shorter at slightly over 10 minutes but it is even better than the first EP. What elevates it are exceptional vocals by special guest Henrik J. The title track has college radio station hit written all over it. There’s an elegant spoken narration by Sofie Eriksson on “I Met a Girl With Butterfly Wings”. The music on this release is more wistful than the first EP. If Emotions was an oil painting, this album would be pastels.
