Yaron Hasson - Yaron Hasson

Genre: Classical

Israeli Classical Guitarist Yaron Harron’s self-titled online album has an air of stateliness about it. While he may not have the flashiness of John Williams or the earthiness of Julian Bream, there is still a clear passion in his playing whether the milieu is the chamber room sophistication of Bach or the latin tinged classicism of Joaquin Turina.

Hasson performs five compositions on this album. It begins with the transcribed “Partita no. 2 in D minor for solo violin” by J. S. Bach which is played with decorum and respect . Turin’s “Sonata” is a romantic journey of Andalusian melodies that shows off Hasson’s prodigious techniques. The oldest composition on the album is English composer John Dowland’s “Fantasie No. 7″. Hasson plays “La Catedral” by Paraguayan guitarist and composer August Barrios Mangore with solemn admiration. The work has a Monet like beauty and exhibits strong Impressionist influences. The last piece is an original four-part composition by Hasson titled “If I Forgot Thee O Jerusalem”.

The album is available in 128kbps MP3.

  2. Sorry. I don’t have the sheet music. Perhaps if you contact Yaron Hasson or the Jerusalem Music Centre through their web site, they might be able to assist you. Otherwise, I have no idea how you would obtain it.
