Shira Kammen - several albums
An occasional collaborator with John Fleagle, Shira Kammen has also partnered with more than a dozen bands and performance ensembles, mostly specializing in early folk and celtic music.
Shira recorded A Celebration of Robert Burns under the name O Fickle Fortune. The album reinterprets the poems and songs of Scottish poet Robert Burns, who is most famous for “Auld Lang Syne” (mp3 by Roger McGuinn), oddly not covered on Shira’s album.
Music of Waters shifts from playful dance ditty (”Unconformity”) to sung poem (”The Water is Wide”) to energetic drum solo (”Coconino”) to, umm… baleful celtic ambient dirge (”Dark Tower” and “Deep Schist”). The Almanac is more of the same.
The Castle of Holly King contains the delightful celtic scat, “The Wren in the Hurze,” and Wild Wood is a collaboration with Pam Swan, which pushes several tracks to a more “rock” feel.
I suspect this all might make great dinner music.
Because Magnatune only provides links for streaming their MP3s (128kbps) via M3U playlists, I’ve provided direct file links below to all 88 MP3 files. If you like this music, please support the artist and buy the albums in higher-quality files (including FLAC) or on CD.

Very enjoyable listening, but track number 15 of “The Castle of Holly King” doesn’t work - - perhaps you could correct that?
Thank you very much.

Right click on your mouse, then click on “save link”. That will download the track onto your computer. Just be sure you know where the file is being save to.

I heard a couple of these songs in a game called Braid for the PC. They are beautiful and suit the beauty of the game very well. If you like puzzle solving games that are a bit challenging, I suggest you check the game out.
